Professional, great service

Review of Chud Air Conditioning & Heating

First time having our ducts cleaned and long overdue. Chad was recommended by a friend and could not have been more pleased. Keith & Tyler arrived at the time I was told (and was alerted by text that they were on their way), they introduced themselves, told me what they were going to do and then did it...professionally, thoroughly, cleanly and told how things went afterward.

did 2 preventative maintenance on heat pumps.m# CB26UH-048-230-1 s#6008C26946 During the maintenance I checked the drain to make sure everything was draining properly. Amped out the heat pack to make sure that that was working and it was. Went outside to the heat pump check temperatures and pressures and over in specs of the units spec sheet. Humidifier was not working. Changed out the 18 x 20 x 1 filter system is operating properly the outdoor unit is very old and customer knows he is on borrowed time. M#CBX27UH-024-230-6-02 s#1614D03338 during the maintenance I changed out to 20 x 25 by one filter also made sure that the drain was draining properly. Amped out the heat pack and it was working properly looked over the whole unit and made sure all wire screws were tight secure. Did a preventative maintenance on a Lennox heat pump. During the maintenance I made sure the drain was working properly and that the condensate pump was working. The condensate pump was very dirty so I emptied it out and cleaned it. I recommend that they replace a condensate pump in the near future due to all the dirt in it. Also check the temperatures and pressures by the outdoor heat pump and everything checks out. The refrigeration levels are in range. Also did a term split inside. And I also emptied out the heat pack to ensure that the emergency heat was working which it was. System is operating properly at this point. In future technician should bring a 20 x 25 x 4 Merv 11 filter due to condition of filter cabinet. M#CbX27UH-060-230-6-02s#5809E17259

Did a preventative maintenance on a Lenix high efficiency gas furnace. During the preventative maintenance I clean the flame sensor also cleaned out the burner rack and the blower motor housing. Customer stated he had a leak of water from the exhaust vent pipe so I put some RTV silicone around it. Also the customer said he was having problems with his programmable thermostat. So me and the customer went through the thermostat and pick the correct temperatures and times for his satisfaction and everything is working properly at this point. Also cleared out the drain on the high-efficiency unit and made sure everything was draining properly. Changed out the 16 x 25 x 1 filter. Also did an amp check on the inducer motor and the blower motor which both meet the furnace specs. System is running properly at this point . M#EL296UH135XE60D-03 s#5920M16189

Performed preventative maintenance for a Lennox heat pump system model #XP17-048-230-09, serial #5815B02982. I powered the system down and removed the access panels. The evaporator coil’s are clean and in good condition. Tested the drain pan, drain line and condensate pump with water to ensure that there are no leaks or clogs. Replaced the air filter size 20x25x1. The blower wheel is clean and in good condition. I powered the system up and called for heat. The blower motor amp draw is at 4.4. The condenser coil’s are clean and in good condition. Condenser amp draws are 1.2 for the fan and 12.6 for the compressor. The refrigerant pressures are within normal limits.. The supply temp is at 124°F. The system is operating properly at this time.

Performed preventative maintenance for gas furnace. Customer was also having issues with the furnace not running. Found a hole in the tip of the pressure switch tubing. Trimmed an inch off the end and it started without issue. Inspected all the electrical components. Confirmed proper high and low voltages. Replaced the customer supplied filter. Performed a combustion analysis on the furnace. System is operating at 79.8% efficiency with a Co level of 32ppm. Tested the amp draw for the blower and inducer. While on the higher side of the range it’s within manufacturer specs. System is operating properly at this time. Model #UGPH-12EARJR Serial #FU5D307F190401019

Performed preventative maintenance for a peerless boiler system model #DE-06-SV-WPC, serial #5012116-200412. Powered the system down and removed the access panel. Removed and cleaned each burner and cleaned out the burner box. The water pressure is at 15 psi and the limit is set for 170°F. The leak is actually coming from the relief valve. It seems that the relief valve has opened at some point and has had a very small drip since then. The expansion tank is in good condition. I powered the system up and called for heat at each zone. I observed the system starting normally and took a combustion analysis test and received the following readings, o2 is at 11% and the co levels are at 19ppm. The system is operating properly at this time. Recommend replacing the pressure relief valve on the system to stop the dripping.

Investigated airflow issue. Homeowner stated previously that the master bedroom and master bathroom vents had stronger airflow. The system is zoned and currently operating properly. The system has a supply air sensor that will shut the outdoor compressor off when the coil temperature gets down to 41 degrees. Running just the 2nd floor zone will cause the outdoor unit to short cycle due to system trying to move 4 tons of airflow through a 10x14 trunk line. When both zones are set closer to the same temperature it will cool the house better overall. From a mechanical standpoint the system is operating properly at this time. I will check with the general manager to see if we’re able to provide a quote for air balancing as we are currently in the process of updating our software and equipment. York S#W1K6015752. This is a callback for customer not having air conditioning from the basement unit that we just did multiple repairs on. Upon inspection I found that there was no high voltage coming into the high fission C condensing unit. We then found that the breaker was tripped for the unit. Turn the breaker back on and tested the amp draw for the compressor. Compressor ran for over 15-20 mins reading 7.4A with an RLA of 14.6A. The 7.4A reading is spot on where it should be. Tested the capacitor for condition and it read 44.7 Microfarads and rated for 45 which is within the 6%+- of rating. This issue happened last season to where I found no issue with high amperage so I recommended customer to call his electrician. He also found no issue and the breaker was fine. He changed it for good measure but now it tripped again a year later. Spoke with PA and I added a hard start kit for good measure. If this happens to repeat a 3rd time we will need to speak with Lennox tech support to see where to go from

Came out today to replace a evaporator coil under warranty. Upon arrival I pumped out any remaining oil in the system. I removed the old evaporator coil and installed the new coil. I brazed both copper connections and pressure tested the system. I charged the system with 200lbs of liquid nitrogen. I let the system hold for 45 minutes. The system held the pressure with no issues. I began to pump down the system while I buttoned up the indoor unit. Once the system was pumped down to 500 microns i proceeded to charge the system with 410-a refrigerant. I charged the system with 8lbs of 410-a. The refrigerant pressures are within normal range, the superheat is at 23 and the subcool is at 7.1. The temperature split is at a 20. The system is operating properly at this time.

Customer called for no air conditioning for the first floor system. The house contains 2 Goodman heat pump system (one in the basement and one in the attic) and a oil fired boiler system. The system in question is the basement heat pump system. It has totally lost all the refrigerant. Customer opted to do a nitrogen pressure test to see if the system has multiple leaks. Found the suction and liquid service ports both no good. This was most likely due to too much heat destroying the seals in the service ports. Closed ports to inspect rest of the piping as well as the air handler. Tested the piping at 300psi. Only found leaks at both the service ports. Both would need to be replaced to fix the system. See the estimate for details. Customer just need it to hold him over until he gets the additions done. He also will need a quote to convert the oil boiler to gas. Peco will be running a natural gas hook up to the house soon. Info will be forwarded to rich for estimate for new boiler system.
