Came out today for a Gibson system not cooling. Upon arrival the homeowner stated that over the weekend the system had little air flow and was starting to freeze at the condenser. The homeowner replaced the dirty 16x25x1 air filter over the weekend and the system is now operating properly. I recommended performing preventative maintenance for the air conditioning system since I am all ready here. The homeowner agreed and I performed preventative maintenance for a Gibson system model#kg7sa072c-24b1, serial #kgd110803670. The evaporator coil’s are clean and in good condition. Tested the drain pan, drain line and condensate pump with several bottles of water to ensure that there are no leaks or clogs. The homeowner recently replaced the air filter size 16x25x1. Checked all electrical components needed for air conditioning to ensure that they are secure and in good condition. I observed the system starting normally.the blower motor amp draw is at 1.4. The temperature split is at a 10. I ad

On arrival homeowner advised that 2nd floor system was not cooling. Inspected drain pan in attic, which was dry as a bone and not a single drop of water in it. Immediately noticed a warm suction line. Put gauges on unit to verify low refrigerant charge. Factory charge 8lbs plus factoring in evaporator and very long lineset brings total system to charge to 10-11 lbs. Advised homeowner that the repair would be easyseal plus refrigerant. Today we completed the easyseal with uv dye plus 5 lbs of 410a refrigerant. We have a 19 degree delta T, subcooling of 7 degrees and 12 degree superheat which is per manufacturer.

Came out today for a no ac call. Upon inspection I found that the wet switch had been tripped by water in the secondary pan. I opened the system and found a piece of insulation blocking the primary drain line. I removed the blockage, vacuumed out the drain line, tested it several times, cleaned the wet switch and vacuumed the water out of the secondary pan. I reconnected the thermostat and the system started right up.

Performed preventative maintenance on Carrier AC system. Replaced MERV 20x25x1 provided by the customer. When calling for AC the condenser didn’t start up. There was a blown fuse on the indoor unit. Discovered a bad contactor, causing the condenser not to turn on. Replaced the contactor and the fuse and now the system is operating properly. Tested the condensate pump and evaporator coil pan for proper drainage. Temperature split is at 20° with a supply air temp of 45°. This unit has an accurate refrigerant charge. Performed preventative maintenance for air conditioning on an older Lennox system from 2006. Inspected all the electrical components. Replaced the customer supplied #201 air filter. Confirmed proper high and low voltages. Tested the temperature split between the supply and return. System is operating at a 20° differential with a 72° Outdoor temperature. Tested the amp draw for the blower, compressor and fan motor. All were on the higher side but within the manufacturer specs. System runs on the r22 refrigerant platform.this refrigerant has been discontinued. If this system develops a leak it would be best to plan to upgrade in the near future. The furnace is from 1992 and most components are obsolete. Air conditioning system is running properly at this time. I would recommend preparing for system replacement in the near future. You can replace the Aprilaire filter with a Merv 11-16 20x25x4or5. The frame is falling apart and won’t last long.

Chud came out to diagnose a no heat call on 2 units. Customer made note that he had been hearing a strange sound from the unit that was very loud and sometimes would wake him up from his sleep. The sound was said to have been a sound of liquid or something pumping and cycling through. Chud read through the manual with the customer. In the manual it says that this is just the refrigerant and condensation pumping these sounds are normal. Upon arrival we tested the units in heat mode and in cool mode and they were both operating properly. Customer was recommended to keep operating the units as normal and to not have one unit on here and one on cool if they are connected to the same Condenser as that will stop operation. Customer will call Chad in the future if problem continues to occur all parts are under warranty.

Came out today for a leaking Lennox furnace. Upon inspection I found that the system is leaking out of the back right corner. I tested the evaporator drain pan, drain line and condensate pump with multiple bottles of hot water. There are no clogs in the drain line or condensate pump. The leak seems to only happen when the heat is running. The exhaust pipe is clear of any animals or debris. The results of the co test are normal. Co is at 17ppm. There is a slight rattling noise coming from the inducer motor. The amp draw for the inducer motor is at .53. The inducer motor is rated for 1.0. My recommendation is to replace the cold end header box, the inducer motor and pressure switches. See estimate for details.

Performed preventative maintenance for air conditioning only system in the attic. Inspected all the electrical components. Found the system with 2 filters in it. One at the air handler and one in the hallway filter rack. System should only be using 1 filter at a time. More than 1 filter could cause too much airflow restriction and/or damage to the system. Replaced the air filter in the hallway filter rack (20x25x1) and left the filter out of the air handler. Confirmed proper high and low voltages. Tested the temperature split between the supply and return. System is operating at a 2° differential on a 52° day. Found the system operating at 25/187 with a subcooling of 0. I added 4lbs 410A refrigerant with EZ seal dye/sealant. Ended up with pressure of 124/232 and a subcooling of 8 per the manufacturer. Run the system as much as possible on days that at 65° and up so that it cycles the dye/sealant more. This is so the dye/sealant moves through the system faster for it to work. If they sy
