I recently moved into this house and wanted to start fresh by having the vents/ductwork cleaned. Other reviews led me to Chud. And Veteran owned so that was a plus! The guys were very professional and walked me through the process. Showed me some of the areas that they were cleaning and they really needed it! I noticed a difference right away with how clean the air in the house was not long after they were finished. It was worth every penny. If you are thinking about having your vents/ductwork cleaned, do it. If you are looking for a company that does it, call Chud.

Performed preventative maintenance for a Lennox system. The evaporator coil’s are clean and in good condition. Tested the drain pan, drain line and condensate pump with several bottles of water to ensure that there is no leaks or clogs. Replaced the air filter size 16x25x1. Checked all electrical components needed for air conditioning to ensure that they are secure and in good condition. I observed the system starting normally. The blower motor amp draw is at 1.6. The temperature split is at a 19. The condenser coils are clean and in good condition. The condenser amp draws are .68 for the fan and 4.9 for the compressor. The refrigerant pressures are 135/246. These are normal readings for 410-A refrigerant with an ambient temperature of 75°. The system is operating properly at this time. No charge MA.

Found Lennox heat pump system completely void of refrigerant charge. There is a leak either on the indoor evaporator coil (air handler) or a leak on the outdoor condenser coil. The system is NOT under any manufacturer warranty and has had a long history of problems including compressor issues, refrigerant leaks, sealant added, drainage problems etc. Based on age and condition the ONLY option is for full system replacement. This is a multi-day job and will require dismantling the drop ceiling and will also require a jack/lift or crane to safely remove and remove the heat pump located on the roof. Chud will provide a replacement quote. See estimates for details. Approved estimate will require a 50% deposit prior to ordering any equipment.

Came out today for a rooftop unit not cooling. Upon inspection I found that when I called for Ac the system would turn on but after about 5 minutes the system would begin to ice up. I looked at the blower and noticed that it was not operating. I checked the connection at the board and found that the module for the blower had detached from the board. I turned the power off and reconnected the module. I turned the power back on and the system started normally. I observed the system running for about 20 to Ethan there isn’t any more issues with the system. The system is operating properly at this time.

Customer called with heater not working since last night. Upon inspection I found no activity at the control board. After I reset the board it started working without issue. Found no other issue with the system at this time. Chud recommends replacing the control board to fix the issue being that it could very well happen again. Customer chose to hold off at this time. Attached will be an estimate for the repair. Collected for todays service. System is operating properly at this time.

Performed routine diagnostic work on Trane RTU. Customer reported the compressor was not working intermittently a few days ago. Ran unit n air conditioning mode. Outdoor temperature 66 degrees. Supply air 48.9, return 67.0. Temperature split of 18.1 degrees which is ideal for R-410a refrigerant. Tested amperage on compressor and had fluctuations between 18-19 amps, rated for 27.6. There is not a heavy load on the system today for heat or cooling. Tested system in heating mode and the system is currently operating properly. Intermittent defrost issues seem to be ok at this time. Discussed the details with customer. Unit was manufactured in October of 2011, 11 years old which equates to 22 seasons of use on the compressor. Customer will monitor system for now, will discuss with RC in reference to getting some numbers together if replacement is needed. BILLOUT for service call and diagnostic. Chud will mail invoice.

Return to look over Trane RTU. Replacement sensor OEM on site. Spent time talking with a Trane FSR about the issue. There is no way to force a defrost, only able to run a test cycle which tests ac, heat and defrost. The defrost test worked, however it did not run long enough to melt all of the frost buildup on the condenser coil. The unit is heating right now, the Trane FSR said it could take up to one hour after powering the unit up to resume normal defrost cycle. If problem does not improve, we will discuss upgrading the units due to history of issues.

Recommend replacing the control/defrost board for a Trane RTU heat pump. First attempt repair due to no defrost and system freezing up. This is a billout. Paul will call customer for cost and turnaround time for repair once parts are in. 1/26/22-PT- removed old defrost board and thermistor. Installed new defrost board and thermistor. Tested the system to ensure the system was operating properly. The system is operating properly at this time. Bill out per office.

Customer called for commercial rooftop heat pump frozen. Upon inspection I tried to run defrost in test mode. System would not run defrost at all. Customer stated it's been an ongoing issue with it cutting in and out for defrost and wasn't sure if it was refrigerant. Checked refrigerant level and pressure switches. Didn't find the system to have a low refrigerant charge. Will start as a first attempt to repair by replacing the control/defrost board. Service manager will follow up with pricing and turnaround time for repair.

Checked all electrical components needed for heating. The inducer motor and blower motor amp draws are within normal range. Replaced the air filter 16x20x1. The system is operating properly at this time. No Charge MA.

Installed (2) I wave air cleaners on both trane rooftop units. Installed them in coil and blower compartment. Wired air cleaners on 240 volt circuit. Tested air cleaners, both are operating properly at this time.

On arrival found Trane RTU blowing warm air. Compressor and condenser fan were not running. I was informed that filters were recently changed and were partially clogged. Unit was in a lockout due to a high pressure switch being tripped. Reset the pressure switch and started unit. Cycled several times from the thermostat with no issue.
